FAQS
How do you calculate my monthly budgeted payment?
GRICUA totals your prior annual energy cost for the prior 12 months adds approximately 10% and divides by 12. The result is your monthly payment amount.
$1,935 x 1.10% = $2,128.50 / 12 = $177.38

What happens if I am using more or less electricity than last year?
Accounts will be reviewed periodically to make sure customer is not over or under paying. Adjustments will be made if actual usage has varied significantly from the estimate used to calculate the budgeted rate. This is to ensure that the true up month reflects as closely to the actual year as possible.
What is a true-up month?
A true-up to zero-out the budget payment balance will generally be conducted at the end of the 12 month period and reflected on customer’s 12th month usage bill, which is mailed in the 13th month. However, GRICUA may review and change a customer’s monthly budget payment as needed. A credit balance would be applied to customer’s next monthly bill and any amount owed would be due with customer’s 12th month usage bill payment.
What if I am late on a payment?
Enrollment in the program will be canceled if two (2) payments are missed.
What happens if I am disconnected?
If you are disconnected, you will need to pay the entire amount owed to be reconnected plus the reconnect fee. If there is a credit balance then all you will owe is the budget payment plus the reconnect fee.
I get assistance through the Service Center, will I be able to sign up for Budget Billing?
Budget billing amounts will be able to be submitted to your District Service Centers for Community assistance if you are eligible for assistance programs. You will need to ensure that GRICUA has a copy of your Award Letter before enrollment.
Will I be able to make payment arrangements?
Payment arrangements will not be allowed if you are enrolled in the Budget Billing program. The only extension that will be considered is assistance program payments. If there is a balance owed after the assistance program payment you will be responsible for your portion of the payment by the due date.
