The GRICUA Board is excited to announce the hiring of Mr. Kenneth “Ken” Stock as its new General Manager, effective January 4, 2022.
Mr. Stock is a visionary, service, and results-focused executive with over two decades of energy and utility experience.
Mr. Stock has more than 25 years of engineering, operations, and leadership experience where he has held positions of increasing responsibility. Mr. Stock most recently served as Assistant City Manager Utility Operations for the City of Albany, Georgia, where he was responsible for electric, natural gas, water, wastewater, and broadband internet utilities as well as City Engineering and Public Works. He also served many years as Vice President of Operations at Kenergy, a large electric distribution cooperative in western Kentucky.
Mr. Stock has effectively led over $2 billion in capital projects that include wind and solar renewable energy projects, combustion power generation, clean air projects, AMI systems, Enterprise Resource Programs, SCADA and outage management systems, fiber networks, and transmission, distribution, and substation construction.
Mr. Stock received a diploma from the US Army Corps of Engineers Department of Public Works Power Engineer Program. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana State University and a Master of Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University. Mr. Stock completed certificates in Environmental Studies from Southern Illinois University and was licensed in Public Water Supply Operations and Wastewater Treatment Operations by the Illinois EPA.
The GRICUA Board is confident that Mr. Stock will continue GRICUA’s growth and commitment to the Gila River Indian Community.
Arnold Mejia, is the Finance Director of the Gila River Indian Community Utility Authority (GRICUA).
Mr. Mejia is an Arizona native and attended the University of Arizona where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the Eller College of Management. He began his professional career with the accounting firm of PriceWaterhouseCoopers and has over 28 years of progressive finance, accounting and management experience in the fields of utility services, construction, publishing, waste management and financial consulting. Mr. Mejia served in the Arizona Air National Guard for more than a decade. Mr. Mejia is passionate about serving the Community and is a board member of several Tempe, Arizona based organizations which serve the local community. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant.
Mr. Miller grew up in Arizona and received his Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and a Masters in Geographic Information Systems from Arizona State University. He began his professional career at GRICUA as a mapping intern during his Master’s program and has almost 10 years’ experience working at GRICUA in different roles on GRICUA’s operations team. He is excited to continue to work with GRICUA and the Community advancing operational goals and initiatives. He is also a Certified Professional in Supply Management.
Andrew McBride is the Director of Engineering for the Gila River Indian Community Utility Authority (GRICUA). Mr. McBride has over 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry including engineering, design, operations and maintenance of electric distribution, substation, and transmission systems. Mr. McBride most recently served as Engineering Manager at Inland Power & Light in Spokane, Washington. He also served as System Planning and Engineering Manager at Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative in Oregon then previous to that was Engineering and Operations Manager at Electric District #2 in Coolidge, Arizona. Mr. McBride holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University and is also a registered professional electrical engineer in the State of Arizona.
