2024 Summer High School/College Internship Program

GRICUA is now accepting applications for High Scool and College Summer Interns.  he Deadline to apply is Friday, May 10, 2024

  • Student must be 16 years of age and an enrolled member of the Gila River Indian Community.
  • Students will work 40 hours per week (Mon.-Fri.)
  • Students will learn from experienced draftsmen, warehouse supervisors, meter technicians, line workers, accountants and others directly involved with the work in the utility.
  • Student should have some basic computer skills, such as word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Student will be required to pass a drug screen and background check prior to employment.

Technical Training Program Candidate

To be considered for this position, APPLICANTS MUST BE AN ENROLLED MEMBER OF THE GILA RIVERINDIAN COMMUNITY.

Position Summary: The Technical Training Program (TTP) is a 12-month training classification used to prepare incumbents for possible acceptance into the GRICUA Line Worker, Solar Technician or Meter Technician Apprentice Programs. The TTP candidate is not guaranteed employment beyond the 12 months of training. The TTP candidate will execute a 12 month employment agreement with GRICUA. Upon completion or during the 12 months, the TTP candidate will be notified if accepted into an Apprentice Program. However, if the candidate selected for TTD is a current GRICUA employee, the termination provision of this job description will be waived.

Management Intern – Mentee Job Description

Position Summary: The Management Intern-Mentee will be responsible for fulltime attendance and engagement in designated training programs and work assignments in the electric utility industry as determined by GRICUA in order to become qualified for the position of General Manager. It is intended that upon completion of the training program the Intern-Mentee will be interviewed to become the next GRICUA General Manager, but completion does not guarantee that the Intern-Mentee will be hired as the GRICUA General Manager.
